A bizarre run out has sparked a Bangladesh collapse that has seen them lose the second one day cricket international to the Black Caps in Nelson.

The tourists chasing 252 to win, made steady progress to be 105 for one before a comedy of errors saw both batsmen end up at the same end while attempting a single.

That breakthrough triggered a collapse of six wickets for 36, before they were ultimately dismissed for 184.

The 67 run win ensures the Black Caps wrap up the series with a game to spare.

Earlier, Neil Broom scored his first international ton with an unbeaten 109 in the Black Caps 251 all out.

Broom is all smiles after contributing to the win.

"It's very special. I never never thought it'd come, so for it to come today and get a win is a great feeling."

The third and final match of the series is on New Year's Eve, again in Nelson.
